About
Our Samiti
Discover our story, our spiritual pillars, and our unwavering devotion to Maa Lakshmi and the community.
The Pride of Domhar Mafi
Sri Sri Mahalakshmi Pooja Samiti was established around the year 2010 in the sacred village of Domhar Mafi. Driven by immense devotion, it has grown to become the largest and most esteemed Samiti in the entire village, bringing together the community for monumental celebrations of faith.
Our grandest celebration unfolds during Deepawali. The festivities begin on Dhanteras with the welcoming of majestic idols of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Ganesh, and Goddess Saraswati. A breathtakingly decorated pandal is constructed, and following the sacred 'Pran-Pratishtha' on Chhoti Diwali, the entire village unites in worship. The celebration culminates with a massive Maha-Bhandara and Hawan, followed by a joyous, music-filled Visarjan procession across the village river.
The Three Pillars of Devotion
Sewa (Service)
We believe that serving humanity is the highest form of worship. The Samiti conducts daily Langar (free kitchen meals serving nutritious food to hundreds), organizes blood donation drives every quarter, and runs free medical checkup camps for underserved families.
Sanskriti (Culture)
Sanatana Dharma holds timeless wisdom. We focus on safeguarding our spiritual legacy by hosting grand traditional festivals, teaching Sanskrit chants to children, hosting Vedic scholars for discourses, and publishing regional spiritual resources.
Samarpan (Surrender)
A path of complete faith and union. Through weekly community sandhya aartis, shared bhajan programs, spiritual introspection camps, and global virtual streaming, we unite devotees in singular focus to experience divine love.
Shri Shri Maha Lakshmi Deity
Our beautiful deity image represents the divine embodiment of wealth, prosperity, compassion, and spiritual fortune. Hand-carved by traditional generational artisans, the idol stands as a beacon of cosmic motherly love.
"Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Praseed Praseed Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Mahalakshmaye Namaha."
Devotees flock to seek her divine darshan. It is believed that observing the mother with pure devotion fills the home with peaceful positive vibrations and clears physical and mental obstacles.
Our Future Mission & Projects
We are continuously striving to make a greater spiritual impact on the community. Over the next five years, the Sewa Samiti plans to initiate several long-term programs:
Permanent Vedic Center & Library: A digital and physical space dedicated to storing rare Sanskrit texts, enabling free educational workshops, and offering meditation courses.
Eco-Pandal Initiative: Expanding our sustainability project to completely zero-carbon footprint installations and teaching other samitis clean building methods.
Free Mobile Ambulance: Setting up a dedicated mobile healthcare service for remote villages around Domhar Mafi, providing immediate diagnostics and emergency care.
